Paul Wainright pours a refreshing brew
for an Acadia Cafe regular on a sultry July day in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sitting just minutes outside of downtown Minneapolis, in the heart of a historically diverse and dynamic neighborhood, Acadia Cafe blends quality nonchallant food, great coffee and beer, unpretentious, community-oriented atmosphere, and an intimate venue, dedicated to supporting independent, original artists. Throughout his internship, Paul aimed to learn and develop the skills required to own and manage an eclectic cafe/venue such as Acadia. While only a relatively small portion of his focus, Paul worked closely with Acadia's owners in every aspect of serving premium beer. Although Wainright worked with local beer distributors on internal promotions, managed inventory, assisted in regular maintenence of beer taps and lines, and discussed with and sold beer to customers, he admits his favorite aspect of helping manage a twenty four tap selection is assisting in its consumption.
