Photos in all other galleries are ready for sale and printing via the shopping cart.

Photography Experience: From 2004-2006 I photographed for and co-edited the Grinnell Cyclone (The 2005 book can be viewed online at http://web.Grinnell.edu/cyclone]), an annual 182 page memory book focused on artistic, black-and-white documentary photography. In May of 2006 I graduated from Grinnell College and worked on a publicity publication for Grinnell which highlighted current Grinnellians participating in summer internships around the country. In the Spring of 2007 I worked as a freelance photographer for The ArgenTimes http://www.theargentimes.com/] out of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Most recently I have focused on landscape photography, weddings, and photojournalism revolving around Latin American's current political swing to the left. I was in Cuba last winter for Fidel's resignation and then in El Salvador covering the presidential elections this past March completing pieces for the ArgenTimes http://www.theargentimes.com/currentaffairs/newsfromlatinamerica/leftist-fmln-party-wins-salvadoran-elections-now-what-/], North American Congress on Latin America (NACLA) https://nacla.org/node/5654)], and Upside Down World http://upsidedownworld.org/main/content/view/1793/1/]. I am currently living in Carbondale, Colorado, and plan to move out West to Portland, Oregon, this coming November.

India: Dharmshala, Tibetan Exile Community : These photos are form where I begin my India journey in beautiful Dharmshala, the Tibetan exile community and Himalayan home to H.H. The Dalai Lama. I spent 10 days in Dharmshala where I hiked forested mountain paths, sat in on philosophy lectures and teachings, and myself taught daily English conversation course to a Tibetan refugee group.
Some in my class had just arrived in exile from Tibet six months prior, while others having made the journey as many as 20 years ago. The class was incredible for me. Half of my students where Tibetan Buddhist monks living in monetary and for 90 minutes each afternoon we did one thing, talked. They told me stories of how they each arrived to India by foot. A 30 day trek, crossing the world's highest mountain range, and in most every case horribly under equipped. Some of my students had been caught by the Nepalese border patrol and where lucky enough to be sold to India and Tibetan refugee organizations, rather then to the Chinese military like many less fortunate. In modern day Tibet Tibetans are not permitted to learn Tibetan language, practice Tibetan Buddhism, talk politics, or even own a photo of their Holiness the Dalai Lama without risk of imprisonment or death. My student's testimonials of the Chinese repression and systematic eradication of Tibetan culture, all in the context of a simple English conversation course, brought me to tears a number of times and turned me back onto the Tibetan cause. 15 years ago "Free Tibet" stickers were everywhere and it seemed that there were always demonstrations and concerts raising money and awareness. But today, in the wake of China's emergence as an economic giant, the issue of Tibet is so weighted that Obama did not even mention Tibet in his meeting with the Chinese President last week. Its touched me, and if you want to get involved or just learn more www.freetibet.org/campaigns is a phenomenal resource.
